Daegu Namgu Little, which is celebrating its 16th anniversary this year, did not record any notable results at the beginning of the season, but like a traditional powerhouse, it showed its strength in the second half and lifted the championship trophy.
This tournament was hosted by Daegu Nam-gu Office and Nam-gu Sports Council, and 17 little baseball teams from the Daegu and Gyeongbuk regions participated and competed for a total of 4 days, from the 14th to the 15th and the 21st to the 22nd.
Daegu Namgu Little, who won the championship, attracted attention throughout the competition with stable pitching and defensive skills.
In the semifinals, they won 5-0 against the powerhouse Gyeongbuk-Gyeongsan City Little, and in the finals, they defeated Daegu Seo-gu Little 5-3 to win the championship.
As a result of the final competition, Daegu Seo-gu Little took second place, and Daegu Jung-gu Little and Gyeongbuk Gyeongsan City Little took joint third place. Coach Na Young-jo, who led the team to victory, received the Best Coach Award.
After the game, Na Young-jo, head coach of Daegu Namgu Little, expressed his thoughts about the victory, saying, “It is not the result of any one person’s efforts and abilities, but the result of all players, coaches, parents, and sponsors sweating together and doing their best in their respective roles with one mind.” .
Daegu Namgu Little is a powerhouse of local little baseball and has consistently delivered victories every year in many competitions. In addition, we aim to be an advanced-country sports club that allows students to study and exercise at the same time without interfering with their studies after school on weekdays and on weekends.
Lee Byeong-rok, general manager of the Daegu Namgu Little Baseball Team, said, “I would like to express my gratitude to the players, coaches, and parents who have achieved good results every year despite various difficulties.” He added, “Through this competition, the players will grow further and create precious memories for the Little Baseball family.” “I hope he stays and I will spare no effort for the baseball team in the future,” he said.
